Jacaranda were thrilled to be part of the fifth annual clay pigeon shoot at Ramster Hall in aid of Help For Heroes earlier this year. Ramster’s own Rosie and Malcolm have recently been recognised with a special award for their fundraising efforts and it’s easy to see why having accumulated over £250,000 throughout the last five years.
This year’s simulated clay pigeon shoot drew great crowds, added huge sums to the accumulated total and even enticed celebrity home buying guru Phil Spencer from Location, Location, Location to join the festivities.
As always, we put our catering team to work and started the day by supplying bacon butties for breakfast. We then created a selection of canapés for that peckish in-between time that included:
Guineafowl croquettes with qince jus
King prawns in chilli, garlic and ginger
Dollcelatte pear and pesto on crostini
Once the business of shooting clay pigeons had been completed, we then put together a main course consisting of a rump of lamb marinated in harissa with spiced aubergine and fried cumin potatoes, mediterrean veg and a smoked paprika and tomato sauce dressing.
This was followed by a simply sumptuous pudding of sharp lemon tart, blackcurrant panna cotta, fresh berries and vanilla shortbread. Finally, we sent out a variety of cheese boards just in case anyone was not quite feeling full up!
We love supporting our affiliated venues and it’s always an honour to help fundraise for the excellent Help For Heroes.
