Wedding Guest Book Inspiration

We’re often asked by our brides and grooms for some tips on how to make the most of their venues or to give them a little help with their wedding plans. Luckily, the Jacaranda team have learnt a thing or two about creating beautiful weddings in our experience, so hopefully we can share some of our knowledge here on the blog. Today, Tori takes a look at how to create a wedding guest book with wow factor.

With so many other things to think about in your wedding planning, it can be all too easy to overlook the guest book, opting instead to provide a nice hardback spined book.  Now, don’t get me wrong, this is totally fine for an unfussy, simplistic approach, but I have recently seen some very imaginative ways in which guests can leave their congratulations and it has inspired me to do a blog post!

One of the themes I’ve seen a lot this summer is the concept of globetrotting. If you are similarly using your wedding to travel the world together, an amazing idea for your guest book is to get yourselves a vintage globe and a nice pen for your guests to write their messages on the globe. You can then display this unique item in your home, with your friends and family’s well wishes on display, as a symbol of the next bit of your adventure together!

Another nice idea I’ve seen is to provide a craft area with many squares of cloth that invite your guests to draw or write a message on one piece of fabric that can then be sewn together with all the rest to create a quilt. Not only will it be nice to be able to snuggle down amongst the wishes of your loved ones, but it can also be an enjoyable past time for your guests on the big day, too.

Polaroid guest books still seem to be popular at the moment and they really are a fab idea. You just have to provide a few Polaroid cameras, plenty of film cartridges, a little instruction and some marker pens so that your guests can snap away, leaving messages as they go. You can then bind all of these into a scrapbook later or alternatively you could get a large frame and put them up somewhere special in your home.

Hopefully some of these ideas will inspire you to think outside of the box when it comes to your guest book and potentially even make a piece of artwork out of your guests’ messages!
