We had such a great time at the Hawker House in Haggerston – London we needed to tell you all about it!
Ian, JJ and I headed to the Hawker House in London for a night of feasting on various different street foods and craft beers – in a nut shell it was a brilliant evening!
Due to all of the vendors we had been eyeing up on the program before even getting to the place, we thought it best to be tactical about how we went about getting to taste it all… we headed straight to the top floor where we found ‘Duck n Roll’ … we tried every item on their menu, it’s fair to say we were very pleased with our first feast of the night. Ian and JJ found their new favourite beer of the moment ‘Gamma Ray’.
The next floor down led us to tacos and burgers. Having recently returned from Mexico, I for one was a little bit sceptical about having the tacos as I feared they really wouldn’t live up to expectations however I was sorely mistaken. These guys really know how to put a taco together just as it is on the streets of Mexico City, next time I need a true Mexican fix I know where I’ll be heading.
The first floor was by far my favourite floor…. Yum Buns ‘coffee ice cream bun’ is absolute heaven on earth, I wish I could eat one every day!! If you are a coffee / dessert fan you HAVE to try this. Ian and JJ tried the pork belly and crispy chicken steamed buns, they too agreed that the steamed bun is the way forward – thank you China.
Overall we left truly inspired and ready to get our creative heads on with our street food menus… watch this space.
