On the 21st September, Megan and Oliver met at the altar of St Peter’s in Lynchmere. In front of 135 friends and family members, they vowed, to love, cherish and respect each other and to be true to one another for the rest of their days.
After an emotional ceremony, they headed over to Farbridge in West Dean where we were waiting to ply the newlyweds and all of their guests with a plethora of delicious canapés including:
Brie Katifi with cranberry dip
Parmesan gnocchi with tomato fondue and shaved parmesan
King prawns with chilli, garlic and ginger
Monkfish wrapped in pancetta with a rosemary skewer and lemon aioli
Seared beef fillet with slow-roast tomato and pesto on crostini
Lamb kofta with saffron yoghurt
“We loved the barns at Farbridge and the fact we had the opportunity and freedom to decorate and customise the venue to our tastes,” Megan said of how the venue stole their hearts.
For their wedding breakfast, Oliver and Megan chose to serve the following menu:
~ Starter ~
Baked Golden Cross goat’s cheese, walnut crust, beetroot carpaccio, baby leaves & raisin bread crout
Artisan Ciabatta bread with extra virgin olive oil
~ Main ~
Breast of chicken stuffed with Thai herbs, potato galette, mange tout and greens with a lime and chilli butter sauce
~ Or ~
Sweet potato gratin with piedmont pepper, pesto dressing and red pepper purée
~ “His and Her’s” dessert ~
His: Individual white & dark chocolate torte with summer berries, raspberry coulis & shards of chocolate
Hers: Sharp lemon tart with fresh raspberries and raspberry coulis
“The service and food were incredible and we couldn’t have asked for anything else,” Megan said. “We were so pleased with our chosen menu and the guests feedback was extremely good. The Thai sauce from the chicken dish keeps being talked about.”
“Our wedding was the most incredible day of our lives where we had all our family and friends in one place,” Megan said. “One we will treasure for life and never forget.”
