Nearly everyone always thinks that if they’re having centre pieces on their tables during the wedding breakfast then they have to be beautiful flowers – but they really don’t!
We love encouraging our clients at Jacaranda to try something a little bit different in order to get the type of wedding decorations that they really want. There are so many options to choose from, so don’t be afraid to think outside the box and get creative. Show your guests something that they’ve never seen before by adapting to your table centres to your own taste.
From lollipop trees to baskets full of your favourite spirit miniatures, there really is no end to things you can use to create a focal point in the middle of each table. You could theme your centre pieces around your hobbies at home, places that you may have been or the season of your wedding – we love the idea of a pyramid of crackers for a wedding close to Christmas!
If you’re working with a wedding planner or venue stylist, they’ll almost certainly be able to come up with dozens of alternative ideas for your centrepieces. Likewise, your florist will probably be quite inspired to be asked to do something a little different if you do still decide to incorporate fresh flowers. If you choose to DIY your table centres, you may find it to be a long, tiresome activity but when you look back at your photos in years to come we’re sure that you’ll be pleased that you did it.
