Friday was such a perfect day for us all, and there is no doubt whatsoever that Jacaranda, and you in particular, played a huge part in making it so memorable.
As you know, Jo and Mark have been the ones who have spent so much time and energy over the past year organising every minute detail of their wedding day – we ‘oldies’ have only been there in the background to lend any help when needed. But the pair of them knew exactly the type of laid-back, relaxed but stylish country wedding they wanted – and with much effort found the right venue and then all the specialist to create that. And they even organised perfect weather!
They knew immediately after they had been to your tasting session at Bury Court that Jacaranda were the caterers! Jo said to me that, not only was your food delicious, but your approach was way more professional than other companies they had looked at, and they felt they would enjoy working with you. And so it proved! I know they greatly appreciated your help in all the preparations. And on the day everyone at the wedding just loved the food you served. The canapes were a terrific appetizer. My nephew, a real ‘foodie’, thought the lamb was some of the best he has tasted. It was all served so efficiently and quickly by your staff. And – a sign of a real professional – we never noticed your presence directing operations, but we were always aware things were moving on smoothly as they should – so many congratulations for all that! And Peter and I, in charge of clearing up, really appreciated your help in reclaiming the drink, displays , lost property etc; it made our job so much easier the morning after in our very tired state! So, a fantastic job all round…
I know Jo valued your recommendations as to who to approach for flowers etc. I can’t compliment Tiger Rose enough on the floral displays. Peter and I had visited Farbridge a number of times previously on our own, and I have to admit, we were concerned that the huge space sometimes looked extremely bare and stark. But Susannah’s displays on Friday were just fabulous and with the sun shining in on the tall candelabras and the huge bay trees, it just looked stunning.
And thank you also for suggesting Carolyn Maslin to produce a wedding cake. Both Mums offered to provide a cake, and I’m so glad we did. It provided another nice photo opportunity – and certainly didn’t seem to be unwanted by the guests! I had to take back only a small piece from the bottom layer….But the fun part also was that when I contacted Carolyn I realised that when I was first married 40 years ago I had been to cookery classes run by her (a Northerner like me and who now lives only 10 minutes away!). But she, like Susannah, was an excellent contact from you.
Jo and Mark are now on a month’s honeymoon in California, but I know they will be in touch with you at some stage to thank you themselves for being such an important part of their wedding plans. But Peer and I just wanted to let you know immediately how much we all appreciate all your vital help in making the day so wonderful. We can’t recommend Jacaranda and your role, highy enough.
