The Superyacht Cup, July 2012

We are delighted to announce that we will be going to Cowes in July to cater for the charity Sail4Cancer at The Superyacht Cup. The event runs from 22nd-25th July and coincides with the start of the Olympics sailing event in Weymouth and the Olympics Opening Ceremony in London, so it will be a really exciting event for Jacaranda to be involved with.

The Superyacht Cup offers boat owners the unique experience of sailing around the Isle of Wight and in the waters of the Solent. We can’t wait to see some of the most breathtaking and outlandish superyachts as part of this regatta! Located close to the town bandstand, we’ll be in a prime position amidst many of the moored superyachts between races.

As if this wasn’t all exciting enough, The Queen will be visiting Cowes to view the superyachts, so we might just try to palm one of our canapés off on HRH so that she too can sample the award-winning Jacaranda catering! Although we are currently still in the  planning stages, we’ll hopefully be able to incorporate some lovely local seafood on to the menus that we are preparing.

We will be providing daytime refreshments to the public on the seafront at Cowes. Our partners, C6n, will be providing a structure called the “Sailers Haven” on behalf of  the charity Sail4Cancer, from which we will be operating, which will provide a fantastic view of the yacht racing. A crack team of Jacaranda elite will be staying on the island – most probably camping, no less! – for about 5 days in total as we prepare for and strike the event.

In the evening we will be catering for the superyacht crews, family and friends; there will be a nightly cocktail hour plus fine food available, courtesy of yours truly. The money raised from the hospitality we provide will be going to Sail4Cancer, whom we hope to be working alongside at many future fundraising events.

This is the first time that The Superyacht Cup has come to the Isle of Wight and although there is a certain element of trying to plan for the unknown combined with the pressure of making sure this event lives up to expectation, we’re absolutely thrilled to be involved and looking forward to hopefully seeing many of you there.
